SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Digi-Data Corporation is a dynamic and innovative company specializing in providing long-term protection for high value digital assets. As leaders in the industry, we offer solutions that range from online backup technologies to enterprise-class digital asset management systems.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to use Microsoft .NET, C#, MVC, and SQL server to implement a platform for remotely sampling production systems and reporting their availability for both real-time monitoring as well as for regular published reports. This Engineer will also work on other monitoring and test automation projects as required.
This position will include the following responsibilities:
- Work independently, or assist others on team, to develop and maintain software tools
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations staff and other stakeholders to evaluate defined complex requirements and processes
- Develop the application’s integration points with a diverse set of existing systems; quality, functionality and performance
- Determine infrastructure and recommend solutions
- Maintain and develop written documentation
- Mentor others as necessary
- Use the Agile process to manage tasks, estimate times, and release working code on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- BSCS or MS degree in computer science and/or 3+ years related industry experience.
- 3+ years of C# development experience
- Thorough understanding of development lifecycle
- In-depth experience in object oriented design and development
- Experience with building APIs and web services
- Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008
- Understand database design practices, including database normalization concepts
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Reporting Services a plus
